FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Documentary featuring Total Diva Pets Premieres in Santa Barbara International Film Festival
Santa Barbara Dog Wig Designers hit the big screen
Santa Barbara, Calif. (January 24, 2008) – After years of competing in the Big Dog Parade, the creators of Total Diva Pets have been featured in a new documentary premiering at the 2008 Santa Barbara International Film Festival. "Unleashed" takes you behind the scenes at this zany showdown where dog owners dream up theatrical floats and costumes. Competitors vie for prizes ranging from luxurious getaways to free dog food-but mostly it’s about bizarre bragging rights, boundless creativity, and the extraordinary between people and their dogs.
Through the stories of a few determined competitors including Jenny and Crissy Slaughter of Total Diva Pets, the film reveals a commitment that extends far beyond the time and money people pour into this event. For many, the dedication began when they rescued their mutt from a shelter or dog–napped a pup from an abusive owner. There are others who nurse disabled dogs, caring for them as they would a close relative. Each relationship is unique, intense, and full of surprises. "Unleashed" takes us beyond the parade and into the heart of a nation that has clearly gone to the dogs.
Total Diva Pets is also celebrating first–year business triumphs. In 2007, as the start–up of Total Diva Pets began, a documentary film crew began filming the growth of Total Diva Pets, from a home business to hitting the runways of New York Pet Fashion Week. "Unleashed" is the story about dog costume designers and their pets competing for the grand prize for best costume in a local dog parade in Santa Barbara, Calif. and gives viewers the "inside look" about what it takes to win a dog parade contest. The film will debut in January 2008 with Total Diva Pets – the business owners, their dogs and their friends – as the main characters. The film will be shown in two screenings, on January 29 and February 1 at the Marjorie Luke Theatre in Santa Barbara. Tickets can be purchased at the Lobero Theatre box office or by calling (805) 963–0761.
The look back at 2007 for Total Diva Pets is bittersweet. While this first year marked a successful year in business, they lost their best model and one of their pet muses. When "Unleashed" premieres, their dog Yogi will once again be bigger than life. "Yogi was my 15–year–old Shiba Inu who was everything to us," said Jenny. "We miss him every day, but he will always be our inspiration."
"In addition to going worldwide, in 2008 we will be unveiling our newest designs – and they’re not limited to just dogs and cats," said Crissy Slaughter, co-owner/operator of Total Diva Pets. Total Diva Pets’ success in 2007 has been because of their love of all animals. "Our pets rule our lives but in a very rewarding way," said Crissy. "They never fail to make us smile – and when you put Total Diva Pets wigs on any dog or cat, it makes everyone smile."

Dog and Cat Wigs to Debut in Hong Kong and Tokyo
Santa Barbara Dog Wig Designers Go Worldwide
Santa Barbara, Calif. (December 27, 2007) – After attending pet product trade shows in the United States for the past year, Total Diva Pets announced today that they are launching their product worldwide by taking their dog and cat wig designs to Asia and ringing in the New Year with their manufacturing partner in Hong Kong and attending Pet Fashion Week in Tokyo. The event is presented by New York Pet Fashion Week and takes place during the New Year Dog Party at Tokyo Big Sight January 12 and 13, 2008.
"We are expanding into the international pet products market," said Jenny Slaughter, co–owner/operator of Total Diva Pets. Total Diva Pets dog wigs will be shown on the runways during Tokyo's first Pet Fashion Week. The Japanese culture is known for its love of fashion, trends and their dogs. "We know our dog wigs will be an instant hit there, and there is no better way to make the introduction than this event. In Hong Kong we are focusing on publicity."
